The birth of 'An Angel's Grace'... originated from a personal experience...
I have recently passed through a traumatic period in my life where I lost a loved one in a tragic car accident. This HUGE loss left a gap in my life; I was at standstill and didn't know which way to turn or what to do... I had a million and one questions. However, one thing was for sure - life 'is' precious...
The shock of my loss hit me very deep - beyond my own belief. With the utmost support from my family and friends, in time, I managed to gain some normality back in my life...but maybe got ahead of myself...
I thought I was ready to go back to my full time profession as a Registered Nurse caring for Oncology patients-(cancer unit). I have always been very passionate about my job and thought it would be good to go back to the passion I enjoyed. However on returning back to work I found that my own health was suffering and even doing my phased return to work plan was taking a toll on both my physical and mental well being and soon began to find it hard to get back into the run of life again.
I decided that it was time I stopped and took care of myself. I needed healing. I visited a very dear friend who is a specialist in Complimentary Therapies. From her healing hands I had several full body massage treatments over a period of 4 months. I truly benefitted from taking this opportunity to heal from within. This was for sure one of the best decisions I made.
Having the treatment made me stronger... gave me the opportunity to get away from the world and the opportunity to clear my mind... to release the tension, aches, pains, stress and exhaustion I had been suffering and carrying. I let myself start to HEAL.
Shock is a very traumatic experience and the affect it leaves on your health and well being is unbelievable.
However Holistic Massage is there to help you come to terms with various other stresses of life that can affect you too.
Pressure from a hectic work life, pressure from looking after a family, stress and worry about underlying health conditions, general day to day worries as well as those who are in good health may use holistic massage as a form of maintaining their well being, relaxing, or simply to pamper oneself.
The body that carries you... the mind that is in constant thoughts thinking away for you... your soul that guides you... let this temple be cared for and treated once in a while.
Seeing how having holistic treatment helped me in many ways while going through a very trying time in my life, I wanted to be able to do the same for others.
I had a general interest in holistic massage but was told on many occasions by friends and family that I had a good 'touch' when offering a general massage. I took this a little further and enrolled onto a Holistic Massage Therapy and Hot Stone Therapy course at Athena School of Natural Therapies. I successfully gained two diplomas - one in Holistic Massage Therapy and the second in Hot Stone Therapy.
Gaining this was a huge achievement in my life, I was ready to share my knowledge and expertise... An Angels Grace was born...
